Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community is a joyful experience, and at the shop we’ve tried to foster a safe and encouraging space for queer people to explore, with regular queer events, a book group and an ever expanding range of books by queer authors.

Through this inclusive story time, we want to give queer families a safe place to experience and express this. Queer families exist, queer kids exist, and they deserve to see themselves in children’s books!

So, come along to Kirkdale on the second Sunday of each month to meet from 11am-12pm to chat, mingle and read from some of the gorgeous children’s books aimed at queer families, however they come.
